DJ Eleazar
For DJ Eleazar Maldonado, music has never been just a job. It’s a passion, a calling, and a way of life. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Eleazar discovered his love for DJing at just fourteen years old behind a pair of legendary Technics 1200 turntables. What started as a passion for mixing records evolved into a lifelong career spanning more than three decades in music, radio, entertainment, and audiovisual production.
Around the world
Although Milwaukee remains home, his career has taken him around the world, with performances in Dubai, Italy, Africa, Turkey, Greece, Chile, Vietnam, and throughout the United States. Among his most memorable accomplishments was being personally selected by the USO and Air Force Entertainment to perform for American military personnel stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Throughout his career, DJ Eleazar has performed for major recording artists, including Pitbull, Chingo Bling, Keyshia Cole, David Banner, and Cincere. He also served as Vice President of the Core DJs Latino Division and has reached national audiences through Core DJ Radio and SiriusXM’s Shade 45.
V100.7 FM
From 2000 to 2012, he worked as an on-air DJ and radio personality at Clear Channel’s V100.7 FM in Milwaukee. During his twelve-year tenure, he became known for his work on two popular mix shows: The Sunday Blaza and the Saturday Night Mix Show. Through his high-energy mixing, diverse musical selections, and passion for DJ culture, Eleazar brought the excitement of Milwaukee’s nightclub scene to radio listeners throughout southeastern Wisconsin. His experience in traditional broadcasting would eventually help inspire him to create his own independent radio platform.
Total Request Entertainment
In 1995, Eleazar founded Total Request Entertainment, establishing what would become a full-service entertainment and audiovisual production company. Over the years, the company expanded beyond traditional DJ services to provide professional sound systems, lighting, LED video walls, live event production, corporate AV services, weddings, festivals, and large-scale entertainment experiences. His experience in both performance and technical production has allowed him to bring a comprehensive approach to entertainment, combining creativity with professional production expertise.
Hittin Hard Radio
In 2010, Eleazar founded Hittin Hard Radio, an independent internet radio station dedicated to showcasing DJs, promoting music, and providing opportunities for established and emerging artists. Built around the concept of “radio you can watch,” Hittin Hard Radio combines traditional radio programming with modern video broadcasting, DJ performances, interviews, and original programming. As founder and operator, Eleazar has overseen station development, broadcast production, programming, talent coordination, and daily operations. The station reflects his dedication to preserving DJ culture while embracing new technology and opportunities in digital broadcasting.
Pitch Control DJs
In 2018, Eleazar founded Pitch Control DJs, an organization dedicated to supporting the music industry by helping recording artists, producers, and record labels bring their music to wider audiences. Through his leadership, Pitch Control DJs grew into a network of 73 DJs, creating opportunities for music promotion, industry exposure, and professional connections. The organization reflects Eleazar’s belief that DJs play a vital role in introducing new music, breaking records, and connecting artists with listeners.
Mentoring the next generation
Beyond his accomplishments in entertainment, Eleazar has dedicated time to helping young people discover opportunities within the music and media industries. Through his work in nonprofit youth education, he has provided instruction and mentorship in DJing, podcasting, radio broadcasting, audio engineering, video editing, and music production. He continues to share his knowledge through hands-on DJ instruction, helping aspiring performers develop their technical abilities, creativity, and confidence. For Eleazar, success isn’t measured solely by personal accomplishments but also by the opportunities he can create for others.
